- He was born on March 14, 1879, in Ulm, Germany. His father was an electrical engineer and his mother was a musician who taught him music. He didn’t speak until he was two years old. At age six, his father gave him a compass, which sparked his curiosity about how things worked. He attended Luitpold Gymnasium Munich for high school.
- Einstein worked at the Swiss Patent Office in Zurich, Switzerland, examining patents for people’s inventions.
- The year 1905 was remarkable because Einstein published three outstanding papers: one on the photoelectric law, one exploring the relation of mass to energy (his most famous), and one on the Special Theory of Relativity.
