Here are the answers to the questions on your worksheet. Since I don’t know which state you live in, I have left number 1 for you to do!

1. Color your state green.

2. What is the largest state?
If you look at the two boxes in the bottom left corner, you will see Alaska and Hawaii. Alaska is much bigger than any other state on the main map.

3. What is the smallest state?
Look at the top right corner of the map (the Northeast). There is a tiny state called Rhode Island. It is the smallest one.

4. Color Nevada orange. Color the states that border Nevada purple.
First, find Nevada (it's in the west, shaped a bit like a boot). Color it orange. Now, look at the states touching its borders:
* Oregon (North)
* Idaho (Northeast)
* Utah (East)
* Arizona (Southeast tip)
* California (West)
Color all five of these states purple.

5. What states border Florida?
Look at the bottom right of the map. Florida is the peninsula sticking down into the water. Only two states touch it by land: Georgia and Alabama.

6. How many states have the word New in them?
Scan the map for names starting with "New":

7. What state is south of Georgia?
Find Georgia in the southeast. The state directly below it is Florida.

8. What state is east of Arizona?
Find Arizona in the southwest. To the right (east) of it is New Mexico.

Find Wyoming (the square-shaped state in the west). The state directly above it is Montana.

10. What state is west of Kansas?
Find Kansas in the middle of the country. To the left (west) of it is Colorado.
