1. Fill in your name and the current date.
2. Write where you are eating and today's date.
3. Enter the amount of money you have (dollars and cents).
4. For each category (Beverage, Appetizer, Entrée, Dessert), write the food item you chose and its cost.
5. Add up the costs from categories 1–4 to calculate the Sub-Total.
6. Multiply the Sub-Total by the tax percentage (e.g., 8%) to find the Tax amount.
7. Add the Sub-Total and Tax to get the Total before tip.
8. Calculate the Tip by multiplying the Total (from step 7) by 15% or 20%.
9. Add the Total and Tip to get the Grand Total.
10. Compare the Grand Total to the money you have. If the Grand Total is more than what you have, you spent too much money — mark the sad face; if not, mark the happy face.
