1. Plug in the microscope and turn the light switch on.
2. Place the slide on the stage and make sure it is clipped in.
3. Carry the microscope to your work area with one hand under the base and the other hand holding the arm.
4. Look through the ocular lens. Start to clarify the image with the coarse focus knob.
5. Once the image is almost clear, use the fine focus knob to make small adjustments.
6. When you are finished using the microscope, turn off the light, make sure your microscope is on the low power objective, wrap up the cord, and put the dust cover back on.
7. To zoom in on the image, turn the nosepiece until you feel the next objective click into place.
8. Make sure the microscope is on the low power objective.
9. Using the stage knobs, move the slide so that the specimen is lined up in the middle of the illuminated area of the stage. (If you don’t have a mechanical stage, do this step manually.)
10. When you are finished viewing the slide, return to the low power objective before removing the slide.
