1. Fold the square paper in half diagonally to form a triangle.
2. Fold the triangle in half again along the other diagonal to form a smaller triangle.
3. Open the pocket from the top corner, pulling the sides outward to form a diamond shape.
4. Flatten the diamond shape into a square by pressing down on the center crease.
5. Turn the model over to the other side.
6. Open and flatten the pocket on this side, mirroring the action from step 3 and 4.
7. Fold the top layer’s left and right edges inward along the dotted lines to form the hood.
8. Repeat the hood fold on the back side of the model.
9. Fold the top point backward along the dotted line to create the top of the lantern.
10. Fold the bottom point upward along the dotted line to form the base of the lantern.
11. Fold the two side points backward along the dotted lines to complete the lantern shape.
12. Draw a face (eyes, nose, mouth) on the front of the lantern to finish the Jack-O-Lantern.
