- Biomass Fuel → This fuel is obtained from plants or from animal waste. This includes straw, cow dung, sewage and even rubbish.
- Hydroelectric power → This uses the natural flow of water to turn water turbines to generate electricity.
- Solar heaters → This uses energy from the sun to heat water directly.
- Solar cells → These cells are used to transfer energy from the sun directly into electricity.
- Geothermal power → In some places, rocks under the ground are hot. Water can be heated by pumping it through the rocks.
- Wind turbines → Used to generate electricity from the wind. The wind turns the large blades and the blades turn a generator.
